From Accountant to Microsoft Power Platform Consultant
I trained as an accountant, but fixing systems and automating processes soon became the more interesting challenge. My first solutions used mouse recorders, Excel macros and VBA. From there, I moved into payroll and HR systems, ERP implementations, SQL and enterprise integration.
That background still shapes how I work: understand the business problem first, find the simplest dependable solution and avoid adding technology for its own sake.
Technology Leadership Built on Delivery
In education, I progressed from improving reporting to leading development, IT operations, security and infrastructure. During COVID, I helped move around 5,000 courses online at speed by using Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions and integrations with the organisation’s management information system.
That experience showed me what well-designed automation can do when an organisation must adapt quickly. More importantly, it reinforced a lesson that now guides The Fabrik: many organisations can achieve more by using their existing Microsoft investment properly before buying another platform.
